Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) has formed a unique system to diagnose and cure illness. In TCM, the understanding of the human body is based on the holistic understanding as described in Daoism. Health is more than just the absence of disease, and TCM recognises this with its unique capacity to harmonise and enhance our capacity for enjoyment, fulfilment and happiness.

TCM consists of:

  • Acupuncture

  • Chinese Herbal Medicine

  • Moxibustion

  • Cupping

  • TCM dietary and lifestyle therapy

Common of conditions treated with TCM:

  • Women's health conditions including pregnancy, menstrual pain and fertility support

  • Chronic pain, musculoskeletal pain, emotional pain, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue

  • Addictions of all kinds

  • Emotional conditions including stress, anxiety, grief, depression, over thinking and worry

  • Skin conditions, including eczema, acne, psoriasis, swelling and dryness

  • Digestive conditions; bloating, nausea, food intolerances, constipation, diarrhoea

  • Allergies, weak immune system, frequent colds and flu, respiratory problems

  • Tinnitus, jaw clenching, migraines

  • Poor energy levels

Acupuncture treatment is individualised for each patient and involves the insertion of fine, single use needles into the skin, at specific acupuncture points where there is disharmony or imbalance. Acupuncture points are selected to benefit the patient and rebalance the flow of energy, blood and body fluids along the meridians and in the organs.

Diagnosis is established through tongue and pulse analysis as well through medical history and current symptoms. Acupuncture can be used to treat internal pain in the body including headaches, stomach pain, menstrual pain and many other types of pain in the body.

Chinese Herbal Medicine

Chinese medicine herbal prescriptions are formulated with a combination of different herbal ingredients, that work together toward effectively rebalancing various patterns of disharmony. Herbal formulations serve to support the treatment goals and often provide reinforcement to the patient for the period away from treatment, to keep the patient on track with their healing.
